From All Peoples Becoming One Family in Christ
We don’t have to look far to see that we live in a fractured world, politically, economically, socially, and racially. Humanity seems incapable of healing so many deep wounds and divisions.
Where the ability of people fails, the power of God prevails. Through the transformational power of the Gospel, there is the opportunity to reconcile people together into one family in Christ for those who repent and believe.
In Genesis 12 God promised Abram that through him all peoples would be blessed. This was ultimately fulfilled through the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. He lived a perfect life, died a terrible death, and rose again in power and glory. It is only through the precious blood of Jesus that we can find reconciliation with God (II Corinthians 5:17-21). Through receiving Christ, we have experience this powerful new life and now are now Christ’s ambassadors, his agents in this world for reconciliation.
We are now citizens of a new country, living stones in a new building, and members of a new family (Ephesians 3:19-22). One day before the throne of God, there will be people from every tribe, tongue, ethnic group, and nation who have been redeemed by the blood of the lamb and who will sing praises to God (Revelation 5:9).
We as a church family have embraced this biblical vision, From all peoples becoming one family in Christ. We envision a church family made up from people from all ethnicities who have experienced the grace of God through the cross, and who are working together to share the good news with people right here in our local neighborhood and around the world.
